What’s in your LUNA LAB nail prep kit?

When starting with press-on nails for the first time, you might feel concerned about whether you have the right materials to get started. Naturally, you do not have a salon set up at home so how could you possibly achieve the same precision when doing it yourself?

I always tell my clients that anyone can learn how to do their own nails. All you need is the right tools and then the right instructions to learn how to use them. The process is simple and I am here to help you every step of the way!

Once you have figured out your nail size and shape with the LUNA LAB Sizing Kit, all you have to do is place your order. You can choose between three tool options free of cost:

  • None

  • Adhesive only: This includes liquid glue and nail tabs

  • Full prep kit

Let’s say you choose the full prep kit. Here’s what you will find in your LUNA LAB once it arrives on your doorstep:

  1. Nail Set

The first and most important thing I add to your order is your nail set! Each order comes with 10 nails made to fit your unique nail sizes.

  1. Liquid nail glue

We send a strong nail glue that is gentle on your nails when you apply and remove. The glue dries in 30 seconds, so putting your nails on won’t take too long. Nails applied using glue have a 2+ weeks wear time.

  1. Adhesive nail tabs

Adhesive nail tabs are used as an alternative to nail glue, and have a shorter wear time of 1-10 days. Mostly used for occasions, they are much easier to remove and do not risk any damage to your natural nails.

  1. Mini nail file

The nail file is helpful to shape your natural nails as a part of the prep process. This ensures that the press-on nails can stay perfectly in place.

  1. Mini buffer

The mini buffer helps remove any glue residue from your nails, making them sleek and smooth for when you want to leave them bare. It also helps ensure a smooth surface under your press-on nails.

  1. Cuticle pusher

The cuticle pusher is a wooden stick which, as you can guess, pushes back your cuticle so your nail bed can take its right shape and look more elongated. This is usually done after your press-on nails have been removed and your hands have soaked in warm soapy water for a few minutes, to ensure your cuticles go into their edges easily and painlessly.

  1. Alcohol prep pads

Alcohol prep pads are the safest way to clean your nail bed, removing any glue, paint, oil or dust on the surface or edges. It also helps to dehydrate your natural nails making the glue or tabs stick better.

  1. Detailed instructions

Each nail set comes with detailed instructions that outline every step of the nail application process. If you have any questions, you can also reach out to LUNA LAB on instagram, read our FAQs, or reach out to us at info@lunalab.ca.

And that’s it! These 8 simple tools are all you need to get started on your press-on nail journey. Happy application and good luck!
